Air Gun Seller with Hundreds of Millions of Rupiah in Sales During Transaction
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Port Police arrested an illegal seller of air gun type weapons while making a transaction in the Tanjung Priok port area, North Jakarta.
"Yes, the perpetrator is a common citizen with the initials MF alias B (28). We managed to arrest him while making the transaction," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKP AA Ngurah Made Pandu Prabawa when confirmed, Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The arrest began when there was a report from the community regarding the circulation of the sale and purchase of air guns via WhatsApp.
Then the team conducted an investigation to obtain evidence of the air gun with the undercover buy technique.
The police, who disguised themselves as buyers, then contacted the seller of the air gun. The police ordered a WG 321 Black air gun type - Non Bloback (not cocked) - Cal. 6mm - Power By Co².
Furthermore, the team again communicated and agreed to conduct the transaction directly at the designated location. The transaction was carried out on Jalan Panjaitan, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.
When the perpetrator was transacting, the undercover team then arrested the perpetrator with the initials MF alias B. When searched, a type of air gun was found on the perpetrator's body.
Then the perpetrator and the evidence were taken to the Tanjung Priok Port Police for further processing.
"When the team was developing, it was found that some evidence of firearms of the air gun type and upgrade tools. The accessories were stored in a rented house in the Jati Cempaka Pondok Gede area, Bekasi," he said.
The suspect MF has been selling and buying air gun type firearms since 2023.
"The perpetrators of this MF usually sell the air gun at a price of Rp. 2.5 million to Rp. 4 million," he said.
The suspect MF admitted that his water gun was obtained by buying from online and resellers. And during the business, from 2023, the perpetrator of MF got a profit of around Rp. 200 million.
"For sellers, we are still investigating. Because all air guns are not allowed to be owned, used, let alone traded. If for Airsoftgun, it can still be used if there is a valid license and is only intended for sports," he said.
For his actions, the perpetrator of MF is threatened with Article 306 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 15 years.
