Bongkar Muat Container Activity in Cilincing Causes Traffic Jams from North Jakarta to Bekasi

JAKARTA - The frequent traffic jams along the Cakung-Cilincing (Cacing) Road in North Jakarta to East Jakarta are caused by the container depot unloading activities in the area.

The impact of container unloading activities at the warehouse, the long traffic jam that occurs can reach more than 10 kilometers. This condition is often complained about by the community and motorcyclists and private cars.

"This is very disturbing, it can't be kept quiet. Residents want to go to work, come home late, because the unloading is every day, sometimes at dawn, morning, midnight," said Wahyu Andre, one of the residents who live in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

According to Wahyu, long traffic jams can occur because of the many container trucks that are piled up on the Cakung-Cilincing road. Not only that, the traffic jam is also caused by trucks that are parked.

The condition is exacerbated by the presence of containers that also want to queue to enter the warehouse to carry out loading and unloading.

Wahyu said that although the center of the loading and unloading depot was in North Jakarta, the tail of the traffic jam could reach East Jakarta, even to enter the Bekasi area.

"The center is in North Jakarta, but the economic impact, the social impact, the losses can reach East Jakarta to Bekasi. This is very detrimental," he said.

Wahyu hopes that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can solve the problems that are very disturbing the community around Cakung Cilincing.

"There must be a final solution. So far, it has only been carried out (penertiban) by North Jakarta, East Jakarta has done it, but there has never been a final solution, tomorrow it will happen again, tomorrow it will happen again," he said.

Previously reported, traffic access on Yos Sudarso Street towards the Tanjung Priok Port area, North Jakarta, was completely paralyzed and hundreds of vehicles experienced long traffic jams.

"This congestion is due to container depot activities at BSA, Temas, and Seacon," said Head of the Transportation Service (Sudinhub) Rudi Saptari, Monday, May 25.
