Boni Hargens: Listyo Sigit’s Precision Policing Drives Fundamental Reform and Boosts Public Trust

JAKARTA - Senior Political Analyst Boni Hargens revealed that the concept of Police Precision carried out by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, brought significant and fundamental changes in the transformation of the performance and culture of the Indonesian police institution, from an institution that had undergone a reputation test, to an institution that is trusted by the people.

He conveyed this when launching the book 'Jend. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Sang Arsitektur PRESISI Polri' which was held in Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 24. According to him, the vision of the Police Precision is a large design of comprehensive changes that are adjusted to the reality of contemporary challenges.

He assessed that General (Pol) Listyo Sigit Prabowo succeeded in inheriting an institution that was at a crossroads, between the pressure of a more critical public and the demands for reforms that could not be delayed and in that situation, the vision of Precision had its logical relevance.

"What is clear, the vision of the National Police Precision is a holistic transformation concept that becomes a compass for the direction of policy and the culture of modern National Police work, uniting three core values that support each other," said Boni Hargens.

Furthermore, Boni explained, the vision of the Indonesian National Police consists of three main supporting elements, namely, Predictive, which is understood that the transformation of the National Police today has utilized the latest information technology-based analytical data, for early detection of potential security disturbances before escalation occurs. The National Police is present before problems develop.

The second support, said Boni, is Responsibility, in the sense that the National Police always carries out its duties effectively, quickly and accurately by prioritizing a humanistic approach in every interaction with the community where every action can be accounted for.

"Finally, Transparency and Justice. This pillar is translated to ensure full accountability in every legal action so that public trust is maintained and justice is truly and truly felt by the people," he explained.

Furthermore, Boni Hargens emphasized that the foundation of the transformation of the National Police carried out by the National Police Chief, General. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo also targeted the organization, operations, public services and internal supervision.

"These four main pillars are the solid foundation for the comprehensive and structured change of the Polri institution, which are interrelated and strengthen each other," concluded Boni Hargens.

The book launch event 'Jend. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Sang Arsitektur PRESISI Polri' was held by the Civil Soecity Forum for Police Watch and was attended by the author of the book, Ali Ramadhan and Political Analyst, Boni Hargens who also wrote the Prolog in the book.

This book is divided into two large parts, namely, Part One carries the theme of 'Foundation & Vision' which describes the career journey and the concept of transformation of PRESISI. Part Two carries the theme, 'Disruption of Democracy & the Future Bhayangkara Corps'.

"This book reviews the leadership journey of General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), and at the same time offers an analytical framework on the role of the police institution in facing democratic disruption in the digital age," said Ali Ramadhan at the location of the book launch event.
