PSSI Exco Meetings Resulted In A Number Of Decisions
JAKARTA - PSSI held an Executive Committee (Exco) meeting via video conference on Tuesday, May 12, at 21.00-23.00. For two hours, a meeting attended by the Chairperson of the PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan and 15 members of Exco resulted in several decisions.
Responding to the latest conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic which has stopped all sports agendas, PSSI discussed preparations for the 2021 U-20 World Cup, the continuation of the competition and the request of the League 1 2020 club to hold a General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) of PT Liga Indonesia Baru.
"At this meeting, the General Chairperson of PSSI emphasized that the date for the World Cup is still 'on schedule' and asked PSSI to continue to coordinate and communicate with FIFA, especially regarding the administration of the 2021 U-20 World Cup," said PSSI Acting Secretary General Yunus Nusi. Meanwhile, regarding the continuation of competition in the pandemic era, PSSI still adheres to SKEP / 48 / III / 2020 dated March 27, 2020 regarding the league situation in force majeure according to the BNPB emergency response status.
"The decree of the PSSI Chairman is still valid, so we are still waiting until May 29 according to the government's decision. Only after that will we talk about alternatives and options regarding the continuation of the 2020 League competition, "continued Yunus.
Yunus explained, regarding the letters from 18 League 1 clubs requesting the convening of the PT Liga Indonesia Baru GMS, according to the Limited Liability Company Law, the board of directors of PT LIB must immediately hold a GMS.
"Moreover, this is absolute, 18 League 1 clubs or 99 percent of the shareholders are taking action. Furthermore, PSSI as the holder of 1 percent of shares submitted a letter to PT LIB to carry out the GMS, "he said.
Yunus emphasized, in this case, the implementation of the Extraordinary GMS had to be carried out as soon as possible.
"Participants in the Exco Meeting agreed to state that the Extraordinary GMS of PT LIB be held on May 18, 2020," he concluded.
