Indonesia agrees to open exports of food products, President Prabowo: As long as farmers do not lose
Gorontalo - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia could open exports of various food and fertilizer commodities to a number of countries in need. However, President Prabowo gave an absolute condition, farmers in the country were not harmed.
This was conveyed by President Prabowo when giving a speech at the Summit of the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen Week (PENAS) in Gorontalo, Wednesday, June 24.
President Prabowo said that Indonesia is currently exporting a number of commodities. This is in line with the demand from other countries for Indonesian agricultural products which continue to increase.
President Prabowo said Indonesia now has a fertilizer surplus so that it can meet the needs of other countries that have made requests. In addition to fertilizer, President Prabowo said many countries also requested rice and corn supplies from Indonesia. This condition shows an increase in the production capacity of the national agricultural sector.
However, President Prabowo emphasized that export policies must still pay attention to the welfare of farmers. President Prabowo emphasized that exports can be carried out as long as the price received by farmers is profitable and does not cause losses.
