LPSK Verification of JC Sony Sonjaya Application
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has verified the application of a justice collaborator (JC) submitted by the former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya in the case of alleged corruption in the Free Nutritious Meal program.
Deputy Chairman of the LPSK Wawan Fahrudin said the application was still in the document verification stage by the LPSK application reception team.
"Currently, the application process is still in the document verification stage by the application reception team," said Wawan, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 24.
He explained that JC's application was filed by Sony Sonjaya's advocacy team on June 9, 2026. Sony's lawyer also filed a request for protection for his client's family through a written letter to the Chairman of the LPSK.
LPSK is now collecting data, facts, and information and coordinating with law enforcement and related parties to test the statements and evidence submitted through the suspect's lawyer.
"The review of the application is carried out by LPSK for 30 working days from the date the application is declared complete," he said.
JC's application is related to the case of alleged corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) 2025-2026 program handled by the Attorney General's Office.
Attorney Sony Sonjaya Krisna Murti said all the requirements for the JC application had been completed and were currently being reviewed by LPSK.
"We will still submit the JC to the LPSK. We have completed all the requirements," Krisna told the media in Jakarta, Wednesday.
According to Krisna, the application was filed because Sony and his family were considered to have not received security guarantees after revealing dozens of names allegedly related to the case.
Previously, the Attorney General's Office rejected JC's application filed by Sony Sonjaya.
Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes, Attorney General Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, said Sony did not meet the requirements as a JC in the case of alleged sale and purchase of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
Syarief explained that the submission of JC is regulated in Law Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims as well as the Supreme Court Circular Number 4 of 2011.
A person can obtain JC status if they are not the main perpetrator and admit their actions.
According to Syarief, the results of the examination and research on Sony's statement showed that the person concerned was suspected as the main perpetrator in the case.
In addition, Sony was considered not to have admitted his actions as one of the requirements for filing a JC.
