Minister Arifah Emphasizes Recovery of Victims of Violence as a Priority
JAKARTA - Minister of Empowerment of Women and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi emphasized that the recovery of a woman with the initials YTR (29), a victim of kidnapping and severe abuse in Bandung, West Java, is a priority.
"The recovery of victims must be the main concern in every handling of violence cases," said PPPA Minister Arifah Fauzi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 24.
The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection has coordinated with the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) of West Java and various parties so that the victims can feel safe, receive psychological support, health services, and the necessary assistance so that they can recover and return to living their lives well.
"Ensuring that victims receive protection, assistance, and access to the recovery services they need," said Arifah Fauzi.
He invited all parties, including local governments, service institutions, community organizations, and communities to strengthen efforts to prevent and address violence against women.
Previously, the West Java Regional Police managed to arrest the suspect TH (30) at a house belonging to the perpetrator's relatives in the Griya Pesona Housing, Ciparay, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 afternoon.
This case was revealed after the victim's family received a message via the WhatsApp application from an unknown person who informed that the victim was at the Emergency Hospital Installation of Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung.
As a result of the alleged acts of violence committed by the suspect, the victim suffered a number of serious injuries, including vision impairment to blindness in both eyes, torn lips, difficulty speaking, unable to walk normally, and loss of a number of valuables.
