After Food, Prabowo Targets Energy Self-sufficiency through B50

GORONTALO - President Prabowo Subianto targets Indonesia not only to be strong in the food sector, but also to move towards energy self-sufficiency. One of the steps prepared is the launch of B50 in July.

This was conveyed by Prabowo when he gave a speech at the Summit of the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen Week in Gorontalo Regency, Wednesday, July 24.

According to Prabowo, the success of food self-sufficiency is a foothold to strengthen other strategic sectors, including fuel oil and energy.

"We will move towards self-sufficiency in fuel and energy," said Prabowo.

He said the government would launch B50 in July. B50 is solar with a mixture of 50 percent palm oil-based materials.

According to Prabowo, this policy is important to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported fuel from abroad.

"Thus we will not import from abroad," he said.

Prabowo targets that the national fuel needs can be met no later than in the next four years.

He said the government was working hard to protect the people's money and ensure Indonesia was the host in its own home. In his speech, Prabowo also emphasized that Indonesia's wealth should not continue to be stolen or robbed.

According to Prabowo, the government has no shortcuts. Agricultural products take time. Rice is only harvested after a few months. Palm oil and cassava also require a process. However, he assessed that the government's work results are beginning to be seen, especially through food self-sufficiency.
