Police Suffer Knee Fracture while Securing a Demonstration in Front of the DPR RI Building
JAKARTA - A police officer, AKBP Adri, suffered a broken right knee while on duty to secure the demonstration held by the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) in front of the DPR/MPR RI Building, Monday, June 22, 2026.
The incident occurred when the mass action attempted to burn tires in a series of demonstrations. The police then made prevention efforts and tried to put out the fire so that the situation would not get any hotter.
Head of the Public Relations Section of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, explained that AKBP Adri was injured while carrying out security duties at the location.
"The incident on Monday during the security of the demonstration at the DPR/MPR RI, the person concerned, Mr. Adri, was securing the demonstration from the PB PMII. During the security, there was a little commotion with the mass action regarding the attempt not to burn tires," he told the media, Thursday, June 24, 2026.
"Mr. Adri tried to put out the fire, but then fell down," he continued.
As a result of the incident, AKBP Adri suffered serious injuries to his right knee. Based on the results of the medical examination, he was diagnosed with a fracture of the dextra patella or fracture of the right knee cap.
"Diagnosis, Fraktur Patella Dextra (right knee fracture)," he said.
