AHM Officially Launches Honda Vario Evo 160 with a Starting Price of Rp. 28 Million, What's New?

JAKARTA - PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) officially launched the New Honda Vario Evo 160 as the latest generation of 160cc scooters that come with design, color evolution and enriched new features. Vario Evo combines high performance to provide a fast driving sensation experience and provides pride for its users.

President Director of AHM Yuichi Shimizu, said the design of the New Honda Vario Evo 160 combines an aggressive impression while still providing comfort and convenience for young generations. The high performance and advanced features embedded in this model are present to provide a unique experience and comfort for users to accompany daily activities.

"This latest generation we introduce with the name New Honda Vario Evo 160. This model comes with major improvements and changes from the design that combines aggressive speed elements and aerodynamic curves," said Yuichi Shimizu at the launch, Wednesday, June 24.

"This is supported by high performance as well as abundant features and technologies. This combination makes the New Honda Vario Evo 160 more able to express the character of its modern rider, while supporting confidence in every journey," he continued.

The New Honda Vario Evo 160 CBS type comes with a more attractive color character to express the style of young people. Equipped with contemporary striping, this type is available in Glossy Blue Lime color options that combine blue with yellow and white accents, as well as Glossy White Red color which combines white and red with red, blue, and black striping accents.

Meanwhile, the New Honda Vario Evo 160 in the CBS Nitro type offers a sporty look with a more calm but still modern color combination. Carrying a combination of two colors on the body of the motorcycle, this type is available in the Nitro Matte Black Red color choice with red rims and the Nitro Glossy Grey Lime variant.

For fans of single tone colors, the New Honda Vario Evo 160 ABS type provides four color choices, namely Ultimate Matte Black, Ultimate Matte White, Ultimate Matte Red and a new color, namely Ultimate Matte Purple. Switching to the powertrain sector, the Vario Evo 160 gets a machine with the latest blend of 160cc 4-valve eSP + capacity.

The engine produces a maximum power of up to 11.3 kW @ 8500 rpm with an increase in peak torque of 14.0 Nm @ 6500 rpm. Through the latest generation engine mix, riders can feel a more powerful engine in the middle of the turn which gives pride and driving pleasure.

AHM claims the Vario Evo 160, this model is able to record an acceleration of 0-200 meters in 11.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 109 km/h based on a performance gauge. This model is also able to achieve a fuel consumption of 46.7 km/liter through the activation of the environmentally friendly Idling Stop System feature with the WMTC (World-wide Motorcycle Test Cycle) EURO 3 testing method.

The high performance appearance is also supported by the wide tubeless tire size, front 100/80-14 and rear 120/70-14 and wider and slightly lower dimensions provide stability and support performance and provide high comfort.

The sporty premium scooter New Honda Vario Evo 160, equipped with advanced features that increase safety and comfort. Honda Smart Key System equipped with alarm and answer back system can give a sense of security for the rider. All lighting systems use LED lights, further adding to the premium and sophisticated impression.

The braking feature on the New Honda Vario Evo 160 comes with an ABS type equipped with the Antilock-Braking System (ABS) safety feature combined with a 220 mm hydraulic disc brake device in the front and rear. Meanwhile, the CBS type uses a 190 mm hydraulic disc brake in the front and a drum brake in the rear.

Not to forget, the New Honda Vario Evo 160 is equipped with a full digital meter panel with complete information including speed indicators, mileage, fuel remaining, Smart Key indicator, digital clock, fuel consumption, battery voltage indicator, oil replacement indicator, trip meter, ISS indicator, and ABS indicator on the ABS type. Proportional body design is able to provide a 18-liter luggage capacity that can accommodate a half-face helmet.

Finally, regarding the price, AHM markets the New Honda Vario Evo 160 with a DKI Jakarta on the road (OTR) price starting from IDR 28,525,000 for the CBS type, IDR 28,775,000 for the CBS Nitro type, and IDR 31,406,000 for the ABS type or the highest variant.
