Kejaksaan Tolak Permohonan Justice Collaborator Eks Wakil Kepala BGN Sony Sonjaya di Kasus Korupsi MBG

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) RI has rejected the application for the status of Justice Collaborator (JC) submitted by the suspect Sony Sonjaya (SS), former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), in the case of alleged corruption in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program management.

Director of Investigation (Dirdik) of the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Attorney General Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, said investigators had studied the application by considering the statements of the suspects and the evidence that had been collected.

"It is true that the investigation team received a letter of request for a justice collaborator from the suspect's legal advisor SS," Syarief told reporters, Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Syarief explained that the granting of the status of justice collaborator has conditions regulated in Law Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims as well as the Supreme Court Circular (SEMA) Number 4 of 2011.

According to him, justice collaborators are perpetrators of criminal acts who cooperate with law enforcement to help uncover larger criminal acts.

"There are two main conditions, namely that the person concerned is not the main perpetrator and admits his actions," he said.

After examining the suspects and examining the evidence, investigators concluded that Sony Sonjaya was the most responsible party in the process of determining or verifying the points of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which is part of the case being investigated.

"Brother SS is the party most responsible for determining or verifying SPPG points. Thus, the person concerned is the main perpetrator," said Syarief.

He said that the case against Sony Sonjaya, among others, was related to the alleged practice of buying and selling SPPG points as well as alleged state financial losses in the procurement of goods and services.

According to Syarief, the application for a justice collaborator submitted by Sony is also related to the suspicion of the alleged sale and purchase of the SPPG point. Therefore, investigators consider the suspect does not meet the requirements as a party who helps uncover other perpetrators with a greater role.

In addition to being considered the main perpetrator, investigators also assessed that Sony had not admitted his actions as suspected in the case.

"In yesterday's examination, no one was considered by the investigators to have admitted that the person concerned admitted his actions as suspected," he said.

Based on these two considerations, the Attorney General's Office decided that it could not grant the request for a justice collaborator submitted by Sony Sonjaya.

"On the basis of this, we have not been able to meet the request for a justice collaborator from the suspect SS," said Syarief.

However, investigators still appreciate all the information provided by Sony during the examination process. The information will continue to be investigated to help uncover the case in its entirety.

"All the information provided to the investigators is very much appreciated and can be used to shed light on this case. However, for justice collaborators, we are bound by existing rules," he concluded.
