BI Records Circulating Money Reaches Rp10.415.9 Trillion in May 2026
Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded the economy's liquidity or broad money (M2) in May 2026 grew higher.
BI Communication Department Executive Director Ramdan Denny Prakoso conveyed that the position of M2 in May 2026 grew by 10.8 percent (yoy), higher than the growth of April 2026 of 9.2 percent (yoy) to reach IDR 10,415.9 trillion.
"This development is driven by the narrow growth of the money supply (M1) of 15.3 percent (yoy) and quasi-money of 6.0 percent (yoy)," he said in a statement, Tuesday, June 23.
Denny said that the development of M2 in May 2026 was mainly influenced by the distribution of credit and net foreign assets.
Meanwhile, credit distribution grew by 10.8 percent (yoy), increasing compared to the growth in April 2026 of 9.4 percent (yoy).
Meanwhile, net foreign assets in May 2026 grew by 5.2 percent (yoy), higher than the previous month's growth of 3.7 percent (yoy).
The credit provided is only in the form of Loans, and does not include financial instruments that are equated with loans, such as debt securities, banker's acceptances, and repo bills.
In addition, the credit granted does not include credit granted by the offices of General Banks located abroad, and credit disbursed to the Central Government and Non-Residents.
