LPSK Provides Emergency Protection to Women Victims of Kidnapping in Bandung
JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) provides emergency protection for victims of alleged kidnapping and persecution carried out by the perpetrator named Taufik Hidayat in Cinunuk, Bandung Regency, West Java.
"As of today, we have issued an emergency agenda, emergency handling," said Deputy Chairman of the LPSK Wawan Fahrudin as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 23.
Wawan said LPSK admitted to being concerned about the tragedy that befell the victim because it was very inhumane.
"He was tortured for three years, especially if there is a relationship of dating, yes, and according to us, it is inhumane," he said.
Wawan said LPSK encouraged the police to immediately arrest Taufik Hidayat.
Meanwhile, he said the LPSK team had been scheduled to coordinate with the Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital (RSHS) Bandung on Tuesday.
"To coordinate with the medical team, approximately what medical needs are needed," he said.
In addition, LPSK will coordinate with the West Java Provincial Government regarding the division of tasks in accordance with Law Number 3 of 2026 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims.
"This Law 3/2026, the new Witness and Victim Protection Law, has included the role of the regional government (regional government) there. So, there is a role for the regional government for us to be able to share tasks in the form of policies and budgets in terms of handling the recovery," he said.
On the other hand, LPSK appreciates the attention of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi to the West Java Provincial Government regarding the handling of the case.
"I think we appreciate the response of the Governor who has also been very good to the victims," he said.
Previously, Dedi Mulyadi in a post on his personal Instagram account, @dedimulyadi71, on Tuesday, invited the public to participate in finding Taufik Hidayat.
"I give space for residents wherever they are to participate in finding it, and whoever can find Taufik Hidayat, hand it over to the police, or inform the police of its whereabouts, I give a reward of Rp. 250 million as a form of my participation so that Taufik Hidayat can be found and immediately arrested," said Dedi.
Meanwhile, the West Java Police on Tuesday said it would immediately issue a wanted list for Taufik Hidayat.
In addition, the West Java Police partnered with the Meta technology company to trace the digital footprints of the suspected perpetrators of kidnapping and persecution.
