2 Baby Hyenas Born At Bali Safari Park

GIANYAR - Two male hyena babies were born healthy at Bali Safari Park, Gianyar Regency, Bali. The two babies are from a parent couple named Adiiya and a male Hamad.

The two male hyena babies were given the names A'ali and Amman by the Bali Safari animal team.

"The two hyena babies who are only one month old are now being treated intensively by a team of doctors. The reason is that after 6 days of birth, Adiiya's mother's milk is not sufficient for the needs of her children. Therefore, instead, the hyena babies get formula every four hours " said Bali Safari's senior veterinarian, dr. Yohana Kusumaningtyas, Thursday, June 10.

The doctor explained that the dose of formula milk was adjusted to the growth and results of daily weight scales. After two weeks from birth, the baby's eyes are open. A week later, his teeth began to grow and this hyena cub learned to walk.

"It was only after he was 1 month old that he was introduced to complementary foods with milk," he said.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Bali Safari Park Jennifer Suryadi said, the success of hyena conservation is of course also realized thanks to the support from the community who never tire of supporting animal conservation activities at Bali Safari Park.
