Prabowo Promises to Increase Infrastructure Budget to Villages

SAMPANG - President Prabowo Subianto ensures that regional infrastructure development will continue. In fact, the government plans to increase the development budget to reach villages throughout Indonesia.

Prabowo made the statement when he inaugurated a 1,151 kilometer regional road in 37 provinces in Sampang Regency, East Java, Tuesday (23/6).

"In the coming years we will increase the cost for development in all areas, even to villages," said Prabowo.

The commitment was conveyed amid the government's efforts to strengthen regional connectivity to support people's economic activities.

Prabowo said that regional roads were important because they were the lifeline of the people's economy. Through the roads, agricultural, plantation, fisheries, and various community products move from villages to markets and distribution centers.

According to the President, infrastructure development must provide direct benefits to the community and be able to open wider economic access.

Therefore, he asked the local government to help maintain and utilize the infrastructure that has been built so that the benefits can be felt in the long term.

Prabowo also reminded that all development budgets should be used responsibly.

"This good quality must be maintained. All expenditures of public money must be carried out as well as possible," he said.

He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Public Works and the local government that were involved in the completion of the regional road project.

The President assessed that the development of equitable connectivity was one of the conditions so that no region was left behind due to limited access.

With this inauguration, a total of 1,151 kilometers of regional roads built through the 2025 Presidential Instruction can officially be used by the public in 37 provinces.
