Makes Residents Uneasy Because Likes To Snatch, Ex-Police Arrested At Boyfriend's House
JAKARTA - A former member of the Police who used to be a member of the NTT Regional Police with the initials HSR (29) was arrested by members of the Kupang City Police Buser related to the case of snatching cellphones or gadgets in a number of places in Kupang which had been troubling residents.
"The previous perpetrator was a former police officer, but was later dismissed with disrespect because he was involved in a narcotics case, as well as in a dissertation case," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Commissioner Rishian Krisna B, to reporters in Kupang, Thursday.
HSR was previously a member of the Indonesian Police Polairud Baharkam and held the rank of bhayangkara police one and was arrested on Tuesday, June 8 at 02.00 local time. The court decision in the form of dishonorable dismissal has been issued since March 24, 2021.
"Earlier, Buser members first secured a resident suspected of being a collector of goods stolen by the perpetrator. From the arrest, the joint team carried out development and succeeded in identifying the identity of the perpetrator and his whereabouts in Kupang," he explained.
Then the joint team hunted down and managed to catch HSR at the house of A (27) who was his girlfriend and he was immediately taken to the Kupang City Police Headquarters without a fight.
Based on the results of the investigation, the perpetrator admitted to stealing people's devices in Kayu Putih Village, Oebobo District, precisely behind the Kupang state finance building.
"Besides these locations, there are still several locations that are being targeted by the perpetrators. The Kupang City Police and the Police ranks have also received many reports of robbery cases which are strongly suspected of involving the perpetrators," he said.
HSR also admitted that after snatching the victim's cellphone, he immediately sold it to several of his colleagues. Proceeds from sales are used for binge drinking and extravagance.
