Prabowo Leaves for East Java, Inaugurates Regional Road and Attends NU Congress
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto departed for East Java on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, with a busy agenda in one day, ranging from the inauguration of a regional road project to attending Nahdlatul Ulama activities.
The President and a limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, at around 09.00 WIB.
The first agenda, Prabowo is scheduled to inaugurate a regional road project in Sampang Regency, which is part of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD). This program includes a road section along 1,151 kilometers spread across various regions of Indonesia.
The government considers the development of regional roads to have a strategic role as the economic lifeline of the community, because it has a direct impact on the smooth distribution of goods and logistics costs in the region.
After the activities in Sampang, the President continued his journey to Bangkalan Regency to attend the closing of the National Conference of Alim Ulama and the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Grand Conference held at IAI Syaichona Mohammad Cholil.
The forum is an important forum for scholars to discuss issues of unity, nationality, and the direction of national development in the future.
During this working visit, President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of officials, including Coordinating Minister for Food and Agriculture Zulkifli Hasan, Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
