Energy Security Safe Above 20 Days, Bahlil Asked PLN to Repair Power Plant Maintenance

JAKARTA - The government ensures that national energy resilience is in a safe condition. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources asked PLN to improve the maintenance aspect of the plant so that power outages do not occur again.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said Indonesia's energy security is currently above the minimum limit.

"We report to the President that our energy resilience is on average above 20 days minimum," said Bahlil after a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday, June 22.

Although the energy supply is considered safe, the government still evaluates a number of issues that have affected electricity services.

In the meeting, the government together with PLN analyzed a number of factors that affect the operation of the plant, including coal supplies and the condition of the gas-fired power plant (PLTG).

In addition to the fuel issue, Bahlil revealed that there were maintenance problems that were also a concern for the government.

Therefore, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources asked PLN to immediately take steps to improve so that the quality of service to the community is more secure.

"We ask PLN to immediately carry out maintenance so that it can really provide certainty of service to the community," he said.

According to Bahlil, the PLN Board of Directors has reported that the previous disruption has begun to be resolved and has not been found since today (Monday, 26/6).

President Prabowo also asked all parties to take accelerated and measured steps to maintain the stability of the electricity supply, especially in the midst of increasing national energy needs.
