Pezeshkian Ready to Visit Pakistan, Appreciates US-Iran Peace Mediator
JAKARTA - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to travel to Pakistan today, Tuesday, June 23. This visit comes after the completion of Iran-US peace negotiations in Switzerland, which were mediated by Pakistan.
Mnegutip IRNA news agency via Reuters, Iran appreciates Pakistan's efforts as a mediator in negotiations in the conflict with the US so that Pezeshkian's visit was carried out.
"One of the purposes of the visit is to convey appreciation to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif for his mediation between Iran and the US," said Habibollah Abbasi, Director of Public Relations at the Iranian Presidential Office.
Senior Iranian envoys have just concluded a marathon session of negotiations with a US delegation in Switzerland.
Pakistan and Qatar, the mediators in this meeting, said the delegates reached an agreement on a "roadmap to a final agreement within 60 days."
Furthermore, negotiations will enter into technical discussions for the rest of this week.
