Claim There is a Disturbance, PLN Says One IPP Plant Has Been Successfully Restored

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) reported that one of the power plants owned by a private partner or Independent Power Producer (IPP) that experienced operational disruptions last week has been successfully restored.

PLN (Persero) President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the plant was back in operation and synchronized with the Java electricity system on Sunday (21/6) at 18.00 WIB.

"One of the large power plants that had been disrupted has been successfully restored and has been synchronized with the Java Island electricity system and has started supplying electricity to increase the reliability of the electricity system on the island of Java. Thus, the alternating blackout that occurred last week has now been minimized," said Darmawan, quoted on Monday, June 22.

In addition to the recovery of the plant, he continued, the condition of the electricity system on Java Island is also continuing to improve along with the maintenance of the primary energy supply needed by the plant.

"We want to convey that the electricity system in Java is gradually improving. The supply of primary energy that meets the specifications required by the plant has been running smoothly. So the efforts to strengthen the plant are going well," added Darmawan.

PLN appreciates the support of the Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in efforts to strengthen the reliability of the electricity system.

"We give the greatest appreciation for the support of the government, in this case the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, especially to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, for his support and coordination so that the entire electricity ecosystem can work together solidly in order to strengthen and make the electricity system of Java Island more reliable," said Darmawan.

As a step to anticipate the dynamics of the system in the future, PLN continues to carry out intensive monitoring while strengthening the reliability of generation and the management of the primary energy supply chain.

"We continue to monitor the efforts to improve the electricity system of Java Island 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on an ongoing basis. We are doing our best to ensure that the improvements that have taken place can continue to be maintained and improved," said Darmawan.

On this occasion, PLN also apologized to the public for the inconvenience caused by load management in a number of areas.

"We also want to apologize for the inconvenience felt by the community due to the alternating blackout that occurred last week," concluded Darmawan.
