Imperial College Will Monitor Curriculum to New Campus Education Hospital

JAKARTA - The government is preparing a major role for Imperial College London in the construction of 10 medical and science universities that will be established by President Prabowo Subianto.

Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto said the world's second-ranked campus would be a mentor for the new universities that the government is preparing.

Not only the curriculum, Imperial College will also be involved in strengthening the quality of lecturers, research, teaching standards, to the design of educational hospitals.

"They will be mentors for our campuses, especially 10 new campuses," said Brian at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, June 22.

According to Brian Yuliarto, professors from Imperial College will provide supervision for various academic and institutional development aspects.

The cooperation is part of a strategic partnership program that is being discussed by both parties.

Brian explained that the government was not discussing the opening of the Imperial College campus in Indonesia. The focus of cooperation at this time is the transfer of standards of quality education and research.

Imperial College is known as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world, especially in the fields of science, technology, health, and medicine.

The government hopes that the involvement of the campus can accelerate the improvement of the quality of higher education in Indonesia, especially in the medical education sector which has been one of the national strategic needs.
