SK Hynix Salip Samsung dalam Kapitalisasi Pasar

SK hynix Inc. has for the first time overtaken Samsung Electronics Co. in market capitalization. The shift leaves Samsung out of the top spot on South Korea's main stock exchange after more than two decades at the top.

According to a Yonhap report quoted on Monday, June 22, data from the Korea Exchange or KRX showed that SK hynix's market capitalization reached 2,091 trillion won, or about 1.358 trillion US dollars, on Monday at 12:42 local time.

That figure is slightly above Samsung Electronics' market capitalization of 2,090 trillion won.

Samsung Electronics has previously held the top position in the main KOSPI index since 2000. The company first became the issuer with the largest market capitalization in South Korea in 1999.

On Monday's trading, SK hynix shares rose 6.15 percent to 2,934,000 won. Samsung Electronics shares also strengthened, but were thinner, 0.99 percent to 357,500 won.

Market capitalization is the total value of a company's shares on the exchange. This figure is commonly used by investors to see how much a company is worth according to the market.
