Veda Ega Learns a Lot after Finishing Fifth in Moto3 Brno 2026

JAKARTA - Indonesian youth racer, Veda Ega Pratama, was quite satisfied with the results he got in the 2026 Czech Republic Moto3 Grand Prix race last weekend after starting the race from the back position because he was sanctioned.

The peak of the Czech Republic Moto3 race at the Brno Automotodrom Circuit took place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, WIB night. Veda managed to finish fifth to bring home 11 points despite starting the race from 20th position.

The racer from Wonosari, Gunungkidul, said that the latest results in Brno after the difficult weekend he faced were of course very happy.

"I also feel that something is still missing because since Mugello (Italian Grand Prix) I have been fighting in the front group. Today (Czech Republic Grand Prix) we were very close to the podium," he said in a Honda Team Asia official statement.

The 17-year-old racer was supposed to start the race in Brno from eighth position. However, he was considered to have driven his bike too slowly in the Qualifying session that he was punished 12 positions.

This is not the first time Veda has been penalized for being judged to slow down his bike. Two weeks ago at the 2026 Hungarian Moto3, he also had to receive a long lap penalty for slowing down.

"In any case, this was a very good race because we had a lot of difficulties throughout this weekend. Friday and Saturday were not easy, but I learned a lot and got an important lesson," said Veda.

Even though he started the race from the seventh row in Brno, Veda performed very heroically throughout the race. In the first four laps he immediately climbed to position 13 and continued to climb after that.

Veda was also able to perform stably in the first 10 rounds by continuing to be in the top six. He then managed to take fifth place, behind Hakim Danish, Brian Uriarte, Maximo Quiles, and David Alamansa.

"For the last lap, I still have to improve. Many riders have more experience than me and understand better how to manage the final moments of the race," said Veda.

Currently, Veda Ega sits in sixth place in the standings with a collection of 82 points. He is still 104 points behind Maximo Quiles who is in the top position.
