Meghan Markle Posts Father's Day Photo, Harry Called "Papa Sussex"
JAKARTA - Meghan Markle shared a Father's Day moment for Prince Harry. The post appeared amid news that the Sussex family may return to England with their two children next month.
According to a report by People quoted Sunday, June 21, the Duchess of Sussex uploaded a photo of Harry on Instagram on Sunday, June 21. In the photo, Harry looked smiling while hugging his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
"They are so lucky to have you. We all are too," Meghan wrote.
"Happy Father's Day to our only special man," he added.
Harry and Meghan have two children. Archie is now 7 years old, while Lilibet is 5 years old. The family lives in Montecito, California, after Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in the UK in 2020.
In an interview with People in 2025, Meghan said that her family still wanted to live as normal a life as possible as parents, even though their situation was different from most families.
Harry and Meghan now split their time between taking care of the family, philanthropic activities, and a number of commercial projects. Harry also often cites Archie and Lilibet as the reason he is pushing for a safer digital world for children.
The Sussex family is said to be making a big trip in the near future. The BBC reported on June 17 that Harry and Meghan are expected to bring Archie and Lilibet to England in July.
If true, the trip will be Meghan's first visit to the UK with her two children in four years. The visit is said to coincide with the countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The Invictus Games are an international sporting event for military personnel and veterans who are injured, ill, or disabled. The event was initiated by Prince Harry.
However, the issue of security is still a stumbling block. Harry previously said he did not feel safe bringing his family to England without the protection of state-funded police. The protection was revoked after he and Meghan stepped down from their royal roles.
It is also unclear whether Harry will meet King Charles III. The relationship between father and son is still strained since Harry and Meghan left the royal family's main circle.
Harry last met in person with King Charles at the king's London residence in September 2025. It was their first meeting in 19 months.
In May, Harry said he wanted to repair his relationship with his family.
"I want to make peace with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight," Harry told the BBC after the court rejected his appeal regarding the restoration of security protection.
"Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father will be around," he said, referring to King Charles' cancer diagnosis announced in 2024.
"He doesn't want to talk to me because of this security issue. But it would be nice if we could make peace," Harry said.
