2026 Hajj Repatriation Reaches 62 Percent, More than 129 Thousand People Arrive in Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) revealed that as of Saturday, June 20, as many as 62 percent of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived back in the country.

Kemenhan data showed that as of Saturday, 267 batches had been sent through King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, with a total of 104,753 people, consisting of 103,687 pilgrims and 1,066 officers.

Meanwhile, through the Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Madinah, 70 batches have been dispatched carrying 27,179 people, consisting of 26,898 pilgrims and 281 officers. In total, 329 batches have arrived in Indonesia with a total of 129,025 people, including 127,709 pilgrims and 1,316 officers.

Meanwhile, the departure process of pilgrims from Mecca to Medina is still ongoing. So far, 226 clusters with a total of 87,496 people have been sent.

Meanwhile, the special pilgrims who have returned to Indonesia have reached 15,802 people, consisting of 15,066 pilgrims and 736 officers.

The government hopes that the return of the pilgrims will be the beginning of spreading the values of goodness among families and communities.

Kemenhan spokesperson Maria Assegaff said that spiritual experiences during the haj should not stop after pilgrims arrive at home. According to him, the values of patience, discipline, concern, brotherhood, and sincerity must continue to be applied in daily life.

"The journey of Hajj does not end when the pilgrims arrive at home. It is from there that a new service begins. Humility must be reflected through attitude, concern, and a real contribution to the family and society," said Maria in Mecca, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 21.

Maria emphasized that the discipline of the congregation during the return process was an important factor in the smooth running of the service. He appreciated the congregation who had obeyed the rules of flight, including not bringing zamzam water into the baggage or cabin bag.

According to him, compliance with the provisions not only speeds up the security inspection process, but also supports flight safety. Zamzam water, continued Maria, has been prepared to be officially distributed at each debarkation in Indonesia.

In addition, pilgrims are urged to always keep their passports, Hajj identity cards, boarding passes, and other important documents during the return journey. Pilgrims are also asked not to entrust documents to parties who are not interested and immediately report to the officer if there is a loss.
