30 Dead in Israeli Attack in Lebanon

JAKARTA - The number of deaths from Israeli attacks in southern and eastern Lebanon on Friday (19/6) reached 30 people, while dozens of others were injured, according to the Lebanese ambulance service.

Earlier that day, a source said 24 people were killed and another 24 were injured as a result of Israeli aircraft, drones, and heavy artillery attacks on a number of settlements in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the escalation of the Israeli attack and stated that the widespread attacks in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as the deaths of civilians, including women and children, were a dangerous step and aimed to counter the efforts to consolidate the ceasefire.

"As a result of the Israeli air force attack on the city of Ain Bourday in the Baalbek District (eastern Lebanon), according to preliminary data, three people were killed and six were injured. Three others were killed as a result of an air strike on a plantation in the city of Jamaliya in the north of Baalbek," the source said, quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Saturday, June 20.

In addition, the city of Touline in southern Lebanon was also the target of an air strike. A number of rescue teams have been deployed to the location.
