Train Collision in England, Conductor Dies, 80 People Injured
JAKARTA - More than 80 people were injured in a collision between two trains near Bedford, England. Previously, officers reported that there was one fatality in the accident.
"A total of 33 people were taken to hospital, 11 of whom were in serious condition. Meanwhile, 56 others were treated for injuries," said the police as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Saturday, June 20.
According to the statement, one of the train drivers died as a result of the accident.
Previously, it was reported that one person died and several others were injured after two trains collided near the city of Bedford. The Telegraph also reported the incident by quoting the testimony of eyewitnesses.
"We know that a number of people were injured and one person has died," the police said.
Police and rescue teams continue to work at the scene, which has been classified as a major incident.
