Maruarar ensures that interest rates for subsidized houses will not increase

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) Maruarar Sirait ensures that the interest rate for subsidized houses will not increase and will remain at 5 percent flat from the beginning to the end of the installment period.

He said that despite the increase in the BI Rate, the government still maintains the interest rate for the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) at 5 percent so that people can get houses with affordable installments.

"We ensure that the state is present and on the side of the people, especially low-income people. Even though there is economic dynamics and an increase in the BI Rate, the FLPP interest rate is still maintained at 5 percent so that the public can still have access to decent and affordable houses," said Mauarar, quoted by Antara.

He also emphasized that the policy of the FLPP Home Ownership Loan (KPR) tenor of up to 40 years as directed by President Prabowo Subianto had been discussed intensively and could be carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions and regulations.

"Thank you for the support of Danantara Mr. Rosan and BP BUMN Mr. Dony. Everything is still on track and there are several issues that we are preparing for Meikarta of course and on Monday I will go to BPKP to ensure that all processes run according to existing rules," he said.

On this occasion, the progress of the distribution of the 2026 Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) was also conveyed. From the target of distributing 350,000 units of houses, the realization to date has reached 78,277 units or about 22.36 percent of the annual target.

Mauarar attended a meeting with Danantara Indonesia to discuss strategic support for the 3 Million House Program which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's national priority programs.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the inventory of apartment houses owned by SOEs as part of efforts to optimize state assets to support the provision of public housing.

In addition, the Gentengisasi Program which aims to improve the quality of people's homes also received support from the banking sector, especially PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

Then also discussed the progress of the Meikarta apartment settlement. The government together with Danantara Indonesia discussed a number of strategic steps, ranging from the process of handing over the grant, acceleration of due diligence on the legality of the land which is currently being carried out by Danantara, to the determination of SOEs which will be assigned to carry out the project.

In addition, the price scheme for selling each unit of the house was also discussed so that the socialization process to the public could be carried out optimally immediately.

The meeting also discussed the preparation of a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) initiated by Danantara as one of the instruments to accelerate the resolution of various strategic issues in the housing and residential areas sectors.
