Islamic New Year is a Moment to Foster Concern for Others

He also explained the history of the determination of 1 Muharram which originated from the event of the migration of the Prophet SAW during the time of Caliph Umar bin Khattab, as well as reminding the importance of maintaining morality and making the Qur'an a guide for life.

This was conveyed in his sermon at the Grand Mosque on Jalan Dewi Sartika, Central Bogor District, Bogor City on Monday, June 15, 2026.

"The Islamic New Year should be a momentum to improve ourselves, take care of our hearts, strengthen our character, and stay away from all deeds that can lead to sin. Make the Quran a friend and daily life," said Major General Kosasih.
