Pramono Reveals that the Cut PLN Cable is the Cause of the Death of a Student at SMAN 6 Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the cable that caused the death of SMAN 6 Jakarta student, Neisha Amalia Evrian Putri (16), was a PLN cable that was cut. The findings were delivered after the fatal incident which occurred on Jalan Losari, South Jakarta on Thursday, June 18.

Pramono expressed his condolences for the death of the 10th grade student who was a victim of an accident while going to school.

"A student named Neisha Amalia Evrian Putri, 16 years old, a student in grade 10 of SMA 6 Jakarta, indeed died yesterday when he was riding a cable on Jalan Losari, South Jakarta. The chronology may be friends already know, but the point is that it happened and the cable is a cable that was cut from PLN," said Pramono in the Senen area, Central Jakarta, Friday, June 19.

The incident began when Neisha was riding a Honda PCX motorcycle to school from the Ciledug area at around 05.30 WIB. When passing on Jalan Lauser, the right handlebar of the motorcycle driven by the man with the initials DJ got stuck in a cable that hung on the road.

The motorcycle then swayed and the two fell. In the accident, Neisha was thrown to the left side of the road and was hit by a school bus that was passing from the opposite direction. The victim died at the scene.

Following up on the incident, Pramono admitted that he had instructed a number of regional organizations to provide assistance to the victim's family, including during the funeral process.

"I have ordered the Transportation Office, the Education Office, then Bina Marga, and others to fully assist, including up to yesterday's funeral," said Pramono.

"In fact, specifically Baznas (Bazis) also finally through the DKI Jakarta Government provided compensation. Yesterday we sent three buses for students to be able to accompany the deceased to the cemetery and we also bear the financing for it," he continued.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also facilitated the departure of the victim's schoolmates who wanted to escort Neisha to her final resting place.

Meanwhile, regarding the ongoing legal process, Pramono emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government would not interfere because the report had been submitted by the family to the police.

"Because this is a matter that has entered the private sector, we allow it," said Pramono.

Currently, the police are still investigating the exact cause of the incident. The driver of the school bus involved has been questioned, while the vehicle that ran over the victim was secured at the Laka Lantas Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police for the purpose of investigation.
