Deadly Fight That Killed a Student in Cilincing Led to the Arrest of the Perpetrator

JAKARTA - A joint team from the Cilincing Police with members of the Resmob and Jatanras of the North Jakarta Metro Police managed to arrest the perpetrator of the stabbing of an elementary school student while fighting one-on-one in the Kalibaru area, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

The perpetrator is known as IPS (14). From the perpetrator's hand, officers secured a number of evidence in the form of a machete blade and its sheath, a green jacket and black pants.

The police also seized a video recording showing the stabbing of the victim.

The head of the Cilincing Police, AKP Bobi Subasri, said that the disclosure of this case was a form of the seriousness of the National Police in taking action against any act of violence that threatens the safety of the community, especially those involving children and adolescents.

"Alhamdulillah, the perpetrator was successfully secured along with evidence related to the crime," he said when confirmed, Friday, June 19, afternoon.

AKP Bobi ensured that the investigation process is still being carried out professionally and in accordance with applicable laws.

He also appealed to parents to increase supervision of children's activities, including the use of social media which often triggers conflicts among teenagers.

"We invite all parents, schools, community leaders, and the surrounding environment to work together to supervise and educate children. Don't let disputes that start from social media end in violent acts that take lives," he said.

Currently, the perpetrator has been secured at the Cilincing Police to undergo further legal proceedings.

The police are also continuing to investigate the entire series of events to complete the investigation process.

Previously reported, a teenager with the initials WS (16) died after being involved in a one-on-one fight like a gladiator on Jalan Kalibaru Timur II, RT 01/03, Kalibaru Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, Friday, June 19, 2026.

The one-on-one fight was equipped with a celurit for each of the perpetrators. However, because of losing the duel, WS who is a grade 2 SMP student suffered a gunshot wound to the left groin and eventually died.
