Moses Itauma is set to fight Ring against Filip Hrgovic
JAKARTA - Rising British boxing star Moses Itauma will face the biggest risk of his unbeaten heavyweight career so far when he decides to face Filip Hrgovic this summer.
Sky Sports reported that the fight will take place on August 29, 2026 at the O2 Arena, London, England. The official announcement regarding the clash will be made in the coming days.
"A press conference is expected to be held early next week," Sky Sports reported.
This is the 21-year-old Itauma's first fight since he paved the way to the world title by winning a spectacular victory over American boxer Jermaine Franklin in March 2026.
Even though he has the status as one of the biggest potentials in the heavyweight class, Itauma is certain to face a very large increase in opponent level when fighting Hrgovic later.
The Croatian boxer suffered his only defeat in his career when he faced Daniel Dubois in the IBF interim heavyweight title fight in June 2024.
Hrgovic, 34, defeated Dave Allen in less than three rounds in his last fight in May 2026.
"Moses never reached the promised land. I want to fight anyone in this division, Moses, anyone. If I'm healthy, I look healthy, it's not a problem for me. I never avoided any opponent," said Hrgovic after defeating Allen.
In addition, there is speculation that Itauma could face WBO champion Dubois in the near future if Dubois manages to win the rematch against Fabio Wardley.
