Iran to Take Firm Action if Deal with U.S. Violated

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed a strong response if the agreement with the US is violated or excessive demands are made.

"If there is a violation of commitments, a violation of agreements, or excessive demands by the other party, we will not hesitate to give a devastating response to the enemy," Ghalibaf wrote on the X social media account, as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, June 19.

"They have been slapped once in the war: if they choose to follow the same path again, they will receive a harder slap," he wrote.

He stressed the task given by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is to "realize the terms and conditions of the agreement".

On Wednesday night (17/6), US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian electronically signed the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding," which is intended to pave the way for the end of the war launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28.

Under the memorandum, Washington and Tehran will hold negotiations for 60 days, with a possible extension, aimed at reaching a final agreement covering Iran's nuclear program and international sanctions.
