Review Schools in Ende, Vice President Gibran Emphasizes Revitalization of 3T Area as a Priority
ENDE - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming emphasized the full commitment of the government to accelerate the revitalization of schools in lagging, leading, and outermost (3T) areas. This commitment was conveyed by the Vice President when directly reviewing the condition of SD Wolomoni in Niowula Village, Detusoko District, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
"Basically, in this 3T area, we prioritize," said Vice President Gibran Rakabuming in Ende, quoted from the official broadcast of the BPMI Secretariat of the Vice President, Friday, June 19, 2026.
This acceleration step was taken after the Vice President heard directly the various complaints and aspirations from residents and parents regarding the limitations of supporting facilities and infrastructure for education during his working visit on Thursday, June 18. One of the parents complained about the condition of the security fence of the learning area which was still very worrying.
"We ask for help with school fences because we are still using wood, damar, bamboo, school fences here," said the school principal to the Vice President.
Responding to this aspiration, the Vice President ensured that the improvement of school infrastructure in the region would be immediately integrated into the national school revitalization program launched by President Prabowo Subianto. His party promised to include the list of school needs in the priority development agenda.
Before visiting SD Wolomoni, Vice President Gibran also briefly reviewed SMP Negeri 1 Ndona which faced similar problems. The school was reported to still be isolated from the mobile network and the internet, a crisis of access to clean water, not having a solid fence, to a lack of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities.
Head of SMP Negeri 1 Ndona, Sofia Ere, hopes that the government's presence through this revitalization program can immediately realize the procurement of internet networks, clean water boreholes, school fences, and adequate ICT facilities to support teaching and learning activities.
The same hope was expressed by the Head of SD Wolomoni, Yohanes. He emphasized that the school was basically ready to support the digitization program. However, the absence of mobile network and internet access in their area is still the biggest barrier for teachers and students.
Apart from fulfilling ICT and internet facilities, Yohanes also hopes that the comprehensive revitalization process from the central government can include the provision of official residences for teachers who serve in remote areas.
In the agenda for reviewing the education infrastructure in Ende Regency, the Vice President was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of NTT Johni Asadoma and Ende Regent Yosef Badeoda.
