Are You A Bekasi Resident? Remember, Wedding Receptions Are Prohibited Following New Clusters Of COVID In Tarumajaya District
JAKARTA - The Task Force for the Acceleration and Handling of COVID-19 in Bekasi Regency, West Java, has again banned residents from holding wedding receptions. This step follows the finding of a new COVID cluster at a celebration in one of the housing estates in the Tarumajaya District.
"I ask each task force in villages and sub-districts not to allow celebrations that have the potential to create new clusters", said Deputy Head of the Bekasi District COVID-19 Task Force, Kombes Hendra Gunawan in Cikarang as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 10.
Apart from wedding receptions, other community activities that have the potential to cause a crowd of more than five people are also not allowed.
"So religious, social, cultural, artistic activities, birthdays, or other activities that cause crowds are prohibited for the time being", he said.
Hendra, who is also the Bekasi Metro Police Chief, stated that he would take firm action against residents who are still determined to hold wedding receptions or other activities that have the potential to cause crowds of people.

The Bekasi Regency COVID-19 Task Force will again intensify judicial operations to suppress the spread of the Coronavirus in its jurisdiction, which is now rising again.
He admitted that after Lebaran 2021, there were seven sub-districts with the category of a high level of spread of COVID-19 cases, which were caused by marriage clusters and community mobilization after the holidays.
"Indeed, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases after the Eid holiday. This is our concern to take a number of steps to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus", said Hendra Gunawan.
The latest case is the wedding reception cluster, which resulted in 33 residents of the Villa Mutiara Gading, Tarumajaya being confirmed positive based on the results of tracking and examination.
Dozens of residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 are now in the central isolation area of the Ibis Cikarang Hotel, except for one symptomatic resident who was referred to the Ananda Hospital, Babelan.
