Himbara Value Reaches Rp1.100 Trillion, Prabowo Says His Role is Very Strategic

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the influence of the five Himbara member banks on the national economy. The combined value of the market capitalization of Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, BSI, and BTN now reaches around Rp. 1,100 trillion.

The Minister of Investment and Industrialization and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani said the figure was equivalent to around 10 percent of the total value of companies listed on the Indonesian capital market.

"If you add up the value, it is approximately Rp. 1,100 trillion, which reflects about 10 percent of the total value of companies in Indonesia," said Rosan after meeting the President at the Presidential Palace, Thursday (18/6).

According to Rosan, the President asked the Himbara board of directors and commissioners to be aware of the great responsibility inherent in state-owned banks.

Bank Mandiri and BRI each have a market capitalization of around Rp450 trillion. Meanwhile, BNI is approaching Rp200 trillion, plus BSI and BTN.

With such a weight, the government assesses Himbara has a role that goes far beyond the function of financing alone.

"This banking can play a very important role in all sectors. This is the blood of our economy," said Rosan, quoting the President's instructions.

Therefore, the government asks Himbara to remain professional and maintain the principle of prudence while supporting national priority programs.
