The execution of the Sultan Rampung Hotel, the Government officially took over State Assets in the GBK area

JAKARTA - The government officially took over the ownership of the Sultan Hotel and a number of other assets in Block 15 of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan, Jakarta, after the eviction carried out by the bailiff of the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (18/6/2026) took place until it was completed.

Deputy Minister of State Secretariat (Wamensesneg) Bambang Eko Suhariyanto said the process of taking over state assets was proceeding according to plan with the support of joint personnel from the Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya, local government, and related agencies.

"Alhamdulillah today the bailiff from the Central Jakarta District Court was backed up by the ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya. The process of taking over state assets of the Sultan Hotel and all assets in Block 15 of the GBK area is running as it should," said Bambang to reporters at the Sultan Hotel area, Senayan, South Jakarta, Thursday (18/6/2026).

Even though there was an incident on the field, Bambang emphasized that the execution would still take place according to the applicable legal provisions.

He also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the security and implementation of the evacuation.

According to Bambang, the acquisition of the Sultan Hotel is not only part of efforts to save state assets, but also a form of enforcement of state authority in maintaining and protecting its assets.

"After this, the assets will be used as much as possible for the benefit of the state and the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Legal Representative of the Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK), Chandra Hamzah, said the process of securing state assets in the area was a legal struggle that lasted for almost two decades.

"According to the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court and the determination of the execution, the eviction was carried out today, June 18, 2026. The journey to secure this state-owned asset took 20 years since 2006," said Chandra.

According to him, the government has released land in the area in the period 1958 to 1962 for the needs of the Jakarta Asian Games IV. The land release document, said Chandra, is still stored and is proof of state ownership of the land that is now the object of dispute.

Chandra emphasized that PT Indobuildco never obtained ownership rights over the land, but only obtained a land use permit for a certain period of time.

"There is no sale and purchase, no transfer of land rights, no inheritance, no grant, nor transfer of rights from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to Indobuildco. There is only a land use permit for 30 years," he said.

He added, the Building Use Rights (HGB) used by PT Indobuildco has expired in 2023. After the expiration of the HGB, the Ministry of State Secretariat together with PPKGBK took various legal steps to return land ownership to the state until finally the execution could be carried out.

Regarding the utilization of post-execution assets, Chandra emphasized that all management and use of assets must follow the provisions of the management of State-owned Assets (BMN) as regulated in Minister of Finance Regulation Number 115/PMK.06/2020.

"Because this is state property, its use must be subject to the applicable provisions and in accordance with the Minister of Finance Regulation," he concluded.
