Halal Industry Certificate Breaks 2.66 Million by March 2026

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) recorded that the number of halal certificates in the industrial subsector reached 2,662,607 certificates cumulatively until the first quarter of 2026. This condition reflects the increasing commitment of business actors in meeting national halal standards.

Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza said that this achievement is an indicator of the positive development of the national halal industry which continues to grow in line with the increasing public demand for halal products.

"In line with the growth of the national industrial sector, the development of the Indonesian halal industry also shows a very positive trend. Until the first quarter of 2026, the number of halal certificates in the halal industry subsector has reached 2.6 million certificates," said Faisol at the Kick-off Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo (Halal Indo) 2026 in Jakarta, Thursday, June 18.

Of the total halal certificates, 2,314,614 certificates come from the halal food industry, 338,757 certificates from the halal beverage industry, and 5,590 certificates for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

In addition to the increase in the number of certificates, industrial products that have obtained halal certification also reached 5,014,222 products as of March 2026.

Faisol assessed that the increase in the number of certifications showed the increasing awareness and commitment of industry players in meeting halal standards, as well as providing assurance to consumers.

"This achievement reflects the increasing commitment of industry players in meeting halal standards while providing halal assurance and increasing public confidence," he said.

According to the Ministry of Industry, strengthening the halal industry is one of the strategies to increase the competitiveness of national manufacturing, considering that Indonesia has a large domestic market with a Muslim population of 248.6 million by 2025.

Globally, Muslim consumption in the six sectors of the sharia economy was recorded at US$ 2.6 trillion in 2024 and is projected to increase to US$ 3.56 trillion in 2029.

To strengthen the halal industry ecosystem, the Ministry of Industry participated in the implementation of Halal Indo 2026 by facilitating 182 industrial business actors, especially small industries.

In addition to providing exhibition booths, the Ministry of Industry also presents halal industry services, workshops, coaching clinics, business matching themed Increasing the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) and the Indonesia Halal Industry Award (IHYA) 2026 as a form of appreciation to industry players who contribute to the development of the national halal industry.

"Hopefully Halal Indo 2026 will be a step that will continue to strengthen synergy and accelerate the growth of the national halal industry, especially to achieve Indonesia as the world's halal industry center," he added.
