Himbara Boss Called Prabowo, Rosan Talks About Economic and Prudent Principles
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has summoned the management and commissioners of the State-owned Bank Association or Himbara to the Presidential Palace. The meeting is said to discuss the direction of the Indonesian economy and the role of the red plate bank as a driver of the economy.
The Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BKPM and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani said the Himbara leaders came to hear the President's views and directions.
"Together with management, there are also commissioners from Himbara, meeting with the President to get views, directions, and sharing regarding the direction of the Indonesian economy in the future," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, June 18.
Rosan said that the meeting was expected to be a productive session. The input from the President, he said, was important so that Himbara could carry out its economic role better.
He emphasized that Himbara must remain cautious in carrying out the function of intermediation. Rosan used the term prudent, which is the principle of prudence in managing banking risks.
"So that Himbara as one of the drivers of the future economy is better, more prudent, and also has a positive impact on the Indonesian economy," he said.
The summoning of the Himbara ranks to the Palace is a matter of concern because state-owned banks are often the focus of financing various government programs. Starting from people's business loans, housing, infrastructure, to financing the productive sector.
In the meeting, Deputy President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI Alexandra Askandar was also present. However, he did not give any information to reporters.
There has been no detailed explanation of the decision or special instructions given by the President during the meeting.
