Janice/Aldila Get Tickets for the Nottingham Open 2026 Quarterfinals

JAKARTA - Janice Tjen and Aldila Sutjiadi managed to continue their journey to the Nottingham Open 2026 women's doubles quarterfinal after winning the first set in the first set.

The third seeded pair in the WTA 250 grass court tournament defeated the United States-Czech Republic pair, Ann Li/Tereza Valentova, with a score of 6-4 and 6-4 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, local time.

Despite winning in two straight sets, Janice/Aldila had to face a fierce resistance from Li/Valentova who performed solidly, especially through their serves.

In the first set, Li/Valentova recorded three aces and put in 79.3 percent of the first serve. However, Janice and Aldila appeared more effective by winning 89.5 percent of their first serve points.

After the score was tied 2-2, the Indonesian pair began to take over the game. They managed to convert one of five break point opportunities to secure the first set with a score of 6-4.

A similar situation occurred in the second set. The two pairs again played 2-2 and recorded the same number of aces. However, two double faults committed by Li/Valentova were able to be well utilized by Janice/Aldila.

Janice/Aldila's advantage was further seen through their success in winning 83.3 percent of the first service points. In addition, they also recorded a better ball return percentage to close the match and ensure victory.

This result is a positive note for Janice/Aldila after experiencing three consecutive losses in the first round, namely at the Italian Open in mid-May 2026, the French Open, and the Libema Open last week.

Janice/Aldila will face Miriam Kolodziejova/Jesika Maleckova in the quarterfinals. The pair from the Czech Republic advanced after defeating the Japanese pair, Miyu Kato/Makoto Ninomiya, with a landslide score of 6-3 and 6-0.
