Gibran reminds regional heads that they cannot just suppress the KDMP point, don't let the school be overturned
JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka asked that the development of the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) be carried out by choosing the right location through studies and involving the community.
This was conveyed when reviewing the Wolomoni Elementary School in Niawula Village, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, which was previously reported to be demolished to become a KDMP.
"That's why I reminded the Deputy Governor, the Regent, the Village Head, please in determining the point it can really be studied," said Vice President Gibran as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 18.
In particular, the Vice President asked for involvement and discussion with residents to ensure that no residents were affected and harmed by the construction.
"Don't let anyone be harmed, especially in this school area, the learning activities should not be disturbed," said the Vice President.
Previously, the fence of the Wolomoni Elementary School, the foundation of the classroom, and the supporting pillar of the room were damaged during the construction of the KDMP because the location of the cooperative's planned construction was behind the school building.
Regarding this, the Vice President emphasized that it had been decided that the location would be moved to a better place, including avoiding competition with Village-owned Business Entities and residents' grocery stores.
The presence of the KDMP, he said, is expected to be able to create a good ecosystem and complement each other.
The Vice President also asked that the school immediately receive Free Nutritious Meals and also noted the residents' requests regarding mess for teachers and strengthening the internet network signal.
The plan is for Vice President Gibran Rakabuming to carry out a working visit to East Nusa Tenggara Province, Gorontalo, West Papua, Central Papua, and South Papua on June 18-21, 2026.
After visiting NTT, Gibran is scheduled to attend and open the XVII National Farmers and Fishermen Week (PENAS) in 2026 in Gorontalo, as well as reviewing the Bulango Ulu Dam as one of the strategic infrastructures that support food security and community welfare.
The visit was then continued to West Papua, with the Vice President scheduled to review the Ransiki Cocoa Production Center in South Manokwari Regency and open the XIV National Church Choir Festival (PESPARAWI) in Manokwari.
