Submit Justice Collaborator, Sony Sonjaya Investigated by the Attorney General's Office Today

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony Sonjaya is scheduled to undergo an examination by investigators from the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office, Thursday, June 18, regarding the investigation into the alleged corruption of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program management.

The examination of Sony is of concern because he had previously volunteered as a justice collaborator (JC) and admitted that he had provided information to investigators regarding parties suspected of knowing or being related to the case being investigated.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the agenda of the examination.

"That's right," Anang told reporters, Wednesday, June 17.

The examination was carried out in order to strengthen the evidence of the case of alleged corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal Program at the National Nutrition Agency for the period 2025-2026 which is currently still in the investigation stage.

In this case, the Attorney General's Office has named five suspects. They are former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana (DH), former BGN official Lodewyk Pusung (LP), former Deputy Head of BGN Sony Sonjaya (SS), Asep Yusuf Soemantri (AYS) from the private sector, and Commissioner of PT YAT Andri Mulyono (AM).

Investigators suspect that there are acts against the law that cause state losses in the implementation of the MBG program. The alleged irregularities that are being investigated include procurement of goods and services and incentives to foundations that are partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

Previously, through his lawyer Krisna Murti, Sony Sonjaya stated that he had applied to be a justice collaborator and provided additional information to investigators.

"We have conveyed it to the investigators, it is already in the BAP," said Krisna, Wednesday (10/6).

According to Krisna, his client has provided information regarding a number of parties who are said to have links to the case being investigated. However, the identities of these parties have not been disclosed to the public.

"From the executive, legislative, and judicial. (Most) legislative. (The number of names) 26, possibly increasing, that's only a part," he said.

Krisna also said that a number of communication evidence that was allegedly relevant to the case was stored in Sony's mobile phone which has now been seized by investigators.

"So all the evidence, such as chats, is in the HP which is currently seized by investigators. For example, the name A communicates with my client, si B, too. So, all the evidence is in my client's HP and it must be opened," he said.

In addition, Krisna claimed that his client was under pressure and influence from a number of parties in the process of granting permission to open the SPPG.

"Even if they don't use pressure, it can also happen. However, suppose there is no pressure, but the influence, it moves its influence," he said.

He also stated that Sony knew the parties who were said to have influence in the process.

"Mr. Sony knows who this person is. That is, with the influence of moving alone, Mr. Sony knows who this person is. It has entered the element," said Krisna.

However, until now, all the information provided by Sony and his lawyers is still part of the investigation process and has not been tested in court.

The Attorney General's Office has also not revealed the identities of the parties mentioned in Sony's statement nor confirmed their connection to the case being investigated.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General's Office stated that it had received a request for a justice collaborator from Sony Sonjaya. Investigators are still studying the application and have not made a decision regarding the status of the JC requested.

The examination of Sony today is expected to help investigators delve into the decision-making process, the management mechanism of the program, and the possibility of the involvement of other parties in the alleged corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meal Program, which is currently still being developed.
