KUR BRI Reaches Rp84.36 Trillion, Strengthening Food Security and People's Economy

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI continues to strengthen its commitment in supporting the growth of the people's economy through the distribution of People's Business Loans (KUR). As a bank that focuses on empowering MSMEs, BRI has consistently expanded financing access for business actors in various regions to encourage productivity, create jobs, and strengthen the real sector which is the foundation of the national economy.

Director of Micro BRI Akhmad Purwakajaya revealed that this commitment is reflected in the realization of the distribution of BRI KUR which throughout January to May 2026 has reached Rp84.36 trillion or equivalent to 46.87% of the total allocation of KUR in 2026 of Rp180 trillion. "The majority of the distribution is directed to productive sectors that have a direct impact on people's economic activities, with a share of 67.18% of the total KUR that has been distributed," he said.

In line with efforts to strengthen national food security, the agricultural sector is the largest contributor to the distribution of BRI KUR with a financing value of IDR 35.91 trillion. This achievement reflects BRI's commitment to supporting farmer productivity while strengthening the sector that is the foundation of food security and economic drivers in various regions.

The distribution of BRI KUR has a strategic role in strengthening the people's economy through increased access to financing for business actors in various regions. According to Akhmad, the focus of KUR distribution in productive sectors is in line with efforts to support the Government of the Republic of Indonesia's Asta Cita, especially in strengthening food security, encouraging entrepreneurship, and strengthening economic equity through the empowerment of MSMEs.

"KUR is not only a financing instrument, but part of a joint effort to strengthen the foundation of the national economy from the grassroots level. The distribution directed to productive sectors, especially agriculture, is expected to be able to increase the productivity of people's businesses while strengthening the regional economic base and supporting the national food security agenda. Through increasingly inclusive and targeted access to financing, MSMEs and business actors can grow stronger, create jobs, and make a sustainable contribution to the national economy," said Akhmad.

Cumulatively since 2015 to May 2026, BRI has disbursed KUR of IDR 1,520 trillion to more than 48.1 million beneficiaries throughout Indonesia. This achievement reflects BRI's consistency in expanding financial inclusion while strengthening the role of MSMEs as the backbone of the national economy. Through the distribution of KUR, BRI continues to play a role in strengthening the economic foundation of the people in various regions. (ADV)
