PRR Task Force reminds K/L to immediately implement the Permanent Recovery Program after the Sumatra disaster.

JAKARTA - The Post-Disaster PRR Task Force for Sumatra reminded all ministries/institutions (K/L) to immediately carry out a permanent recovery program in areas affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The Head of the Post-disaster Sumatera Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR), Muhammad Tito Karnavian, emphasized that the acceleration of administration and the distribution of budgets must be the concern of all parties because the affected people have waited long enough to return to normal life.

"This week we encourage ministries/institutions that are still struggling to make proposals to immediately submit them to the Ministry of Finance. Don't take too long, the people who are affected by disasters don't want to be in trouble for a long time. It's been seven months that they've been in trouble," said Tito in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 17.

This is done so that the affected community can immediately feel the benefits of rehabilitation and reconstruction after months of facing various limitations due to disasters.

This acceleration is in line with the start of the realization of rehabilitation and reconstruction budgets from a number of ministries and institutions.

Until mid-June 2026, several agencies such as the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) have received budget allocations from the Ministry of Finance to support the implementation of recovery programs in the field.

According to Tito, ministries and agencies that have received budget allocations must also immediately move to execute the planned programs.

At the same time, the PRR Task Force continues to encourage the acceleration of the budget submission process for ministries and agencies that are still in the stage of preparing and synchronizing proposed activities.

"Those who have reduced the budget from the Ministry of Finance, we encourage them to work. For those who have not yet reduced, we encourage ministries/institutions to submit to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance to accelerate the realization of the budget to the K/L," he said.

As part of strengthening the control of the program, the PRR Task Force will also request details of activities from each ministry and agency that has received funding.

This step was taken to ensure that all rehabilitation and reconstruction programs run effectively, appropriately, and do not overlap with provincial and district/city government programs.

In addition, through daily coordination meetings, the PRR Task Force continues to monitor the completion of the plans of activities of ministries and agencies so that the funding process can run on time.

The Task Force will also form regional coordinators in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra to strengthen the monitoring, evaluation, and supervision functions of the implementation of recovery programs in the field.

The acceleration effort is based on the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Post-disaster Sumatra 2026-2028 which was determined through the Decree of the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Number 25 of 2026.

The document is the main guideline for ministries, agencies, and local governments in implementing integrated and sustainable recovery programs.

With this acceleration, it is hoped that disaster survivors will immediately receive decent housing, permanent functioning infrastructure, optimal basic services, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives and livelihoods better.
