KPK Proposes Additional Budget of Rp762 Billion, DPR: Take Care of It, Ask for Rp5 Trillion!

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) proposed an additional budget for its agency of Rp. 762 billion to Commission III of the DPR. Apparently, this figure is still relatively minimal so that the DPR RI suggests that the KPK submit an additional budget of Rp. 5 trillion.

This was revealed in a working meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the Chairman of the KPK in the agenda of RKA-K/L and RKP-K/L for 2027 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 27.

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto initially said that the implementation of the budget until the beginning of June 2026, the KPK's indicative ceiling in 2027 had decreased by Rp349 billion or 22 percent compared to the 2026 fiscal year DIPA.

The indicative budget of the KPK of IDR 1.23 trillion is allocated for several programs. First, management support, as well as for the implementation of existing technical tasks and functions in the prevention and enforcement program of IDR 9.3 billion.

Setyo explained that, compared to the type of spending, namely Rp. 1.31 billion, this was allocated for employee spending, while for goods spending it was Rp. 201.7 billion.

"The leadership and members of Commission III, whom we respect, of course, we have noted the direction of the President during the implementation of the consolidation of the free nutritious meal program on June 3 in Sentul. He gave a statement whatever it takes. Therefore, in relation to this statement, this will be relevant to the request that we propose or additional proposals for Budget 2027 of Rp. 762.30 billion," said Setyo Budiyanto in a meeting at the Commission IIi of the DPR, Wednesday, June 17.

Hearing the KPK only asked for an additional Rp762 billion, the head of Commission III of the DPR then asked again and was surprised. Because according to him, the KPk can submit additional budgets of up to Rp5 trillion.

"Mr. Chairman, just before continuing, so you just want 762, right? But my suggestion, Mr. President, this suggestion. So if you show up in the exposure, you will ask how much to give. Mr., submit 5 T (Rp5 trillion), Mr. Mr. Take care. Yes, later if Mr. President doesn't give it, ah we will open the video later so that Mr. President will give it to the KPK equivalent to the Prosecutor's Office later. Do you agree, friends?," said the head of Commission III of the DPR.

Answering the suggestion, the KPK chairman said his party was not greedy regarding the budget and only requested additional funds according to needs. Even so, he appreciated the suggestion of members of Commission III of the DPR.

"Thank you, Chairman. So we have actually calculated this. So for the allocation of the two programs, the details are for management support of Rp. 1.23, then for the prevention and enforcement program it is Rp. 9.3, then other budgets which are 619 to 628 (billion). We have maximized the calculations," said Setyo.

"This means that if this is the experience of 2026. If 2026 there is a reduction, there is a sharpening. We, if there is no sharpening, we also support it very much. So the hope is that with the addition of 762 (billion) this can accommodate. Later, others such as the support of new civil servants or CPNS who have been appointed, have been sworn in, there are other mechanisms that we have proposed to the Ministry of Finance," he added.
