After T’way Air, Spring Airlines now opens direct flights to Jakarta
JAKARTA - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has added an international flight network with the arrival of a Chinese airline, Spring Airlines.
The airline's arrival follows the expansion of South Korean airline T'way Air, which first opened the Seoul-Jakarta direct flight.
The South Korean airline, T'way Air, has opened the Seoul (ICN)-Jakarta (CGK) flight service since April 29, 2026 with a frequency of five times a week.
Meanwhile, Spring Airlines is scheduled to start serving the Guangzhou (CAN)-Jakarta (CGK) route on June 16, 2026 with a frequency of three times a week. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen (SZX)-Jakarta (CGK) route will start operating on June 17, 2026 with a frequency of twice a week.
The opening of the two new routes is considered a strategic step to strengthen air connectivity between Indonesia and China, as well as opening up greater opportunities for the growth of the tourism, trade, investment, and mobility of the people of the two countries.
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi, said the presence of Spring Airlines reflected the increasing confidence of international airlines in the potential of the Indonesian aviation market.

According to Heru, currently Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serves 69 regular and irregular airlines with flight networks to 123 international destinations and 70 domestic destinations.
Heru assessed that the addition of new routes from Spring Airlines further strengthened the position of Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the largest international aviation hub in Indonesia.
"With the increasingly extensive international flight network, we hope that Soekarno-Hatta Airport can continue to be the main link between Indonesia and various countries and make a real contribution to national economic growth," he said.
Heru said the entry of Spring Airlines and T'way Air in close proximity showed the high interest of global airlines to expand their flight network to Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
