Jakarta Indiesphere 2026 Ready to Catch the New Wave of Independent Capital Musicians

JAKARTA - The independent music scene in the capital is ready to welcome a new wave. The Jakarta Indiesphere 2026 independent music talent search event officially opens registration for local bands who want to bring their original works to a wider stage.

Carrying the spirit of finding talents born from the creative corners of Jakarta, this competition is not just looking for original voices. More than that, Jakarta Indiesphere is designed to be a platform for independent art activists to expand their networks and strengthen the creative ecosystem in Jakarta.

The peak of this competition is scheduled to take place at Livehouse, M Bloc Space, South Jakarta, on June 28. The bands that are selected will get the opportunity to perform on the main stage and compete for a total prize of IDR 70 million.

To catch the best talent, Jakarta Indiesphere presents a row of experienced jury and curator boards in the national music scene. They are Arden Wiebowo, Ryan Kampua, Hasief Ardiansyah, Stella Gareth, Brian Kresno Putro, David Tarigan, Muhammad Fauzan Lubis, to Endah Widiastuti.

The involvement of these professionals is expected to be able to provide an objective assessment as well as provide the right direction for participants.

One of the jury board, Endah Widiastuti, expressed his enthusiasm for this event. He admitted that he was very interested in the concept offered, especially the education program attached to it.

"Honestly, it's exciting to see the growing bands that participate in Jakarta Indiesphere. Especially seeing experienced curators and the judges are exciting. It's interesting to watch, what will be the result later," said Endah in his statement.

Endah also gave special notes regarding the existence of band camp sessions and in-depth material. According to him, this educational aspect is very crucial for the continuation of the careers of musicians in the music industry today.

"I see that this band camp and material deepening program is interesting, the band will have the knowledge to develop their potential in the music scene in the future which indeed requires creativity in it," added Endah.

For musicians who are interested in showing off, the organizers have set a number of strict requirements to maintain the quality of the competition. Participants can be soloists or band groups who must have at least one original song, because the committee strictly prohibits the use of cover format songs.

The submitted work must be in the form of an audio file in MP3 or WAV format with a minimum quality of 320 kbps, and is accompanied by a video of the live performance while performing the original song.

In addition, supporting documents such as the latest photos of each personnel, biodata, music genre, work portfolio, and a letter of policy on originality must also be included.

One administrative requirement that must not be missed is that at least one person in the group must have a DKI Jakarta Identification Card (KTP).

The organizer also emphasized strict rules regarding the use of modern technology, where all works registered must be 100 percent original and absolutely not involve artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence (AI) in the creation process.

Registration can be done online through the official website www.jakartaindiesphere2026.com after all documents are complete.

In addition, Jakarta Indiesphere 2026 is not limited to music competitions alone. This event is projected to be a multi-sectoral meeting space for various elements of the creative scene in the capital.

Visitors who attend can enjoy a variety of other interesting activations, ranging from book exhibitions by independent writers, discussion sessions with authors, screenings of selected short films, to talks with independent filmmakers in the country.
