Government ensures MBG program will continue in the Prabowo era

JAKARTA - Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI) Muhammad Qodari said that the government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto will continue to carry out the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program because it is a direct mandate from the people.

Qodari explained that before running for president two years ago, Prabowo had explained his vision and mission to the public. In it there are a number of priority programs, one of which is Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).

In the end, Prabowo won the presidential election democratically. According to Qodari, this reflects that the Indonesian people give Prabowo a mandate to carry out the programs that have been promised, including MBG.

"That the name MBG cannot be asked to stop immediately. Because it is the vision and political contract of Mr. Prabowo. President Prabowo was elected because of the work program implemented, (the program) cannot be dismissed," explained Qodari, quoted Wednesday, June 17.

Furthermore, he said that the MBG program is based on a noble goal. The policy is a solution to the nutritional problems that some children and toddlers in Indonesia still face, which have the potential to interfere with their growth and development.

Qodari admitted that the implementation of the MBG program faced various challenges. However, according to him, these challenges should not be an excuse to stop implementing the program considering the importance of the benefits provided to the community.

Therefore, Qodari emphasized that the government still opens discussion space and accepts input from the public so that the implementation of the program can run better. In addition, the government is also committed to continue to improve the governance of its implementation.

"It would be a big mistake if he demanded Mr. Prabowo to stop the program. Because that is his campaign promise," he explained.

Not only MBG, Qodari said that President Prabowo's various work programs were also designed as a solution to various problems faced by the community.

He then gave an example of the government's steps to stop the practice of cheating in the export of strategic natural resources and increase state revenues through a one-stop export mechanism. In addition, the government has also expanded access to education for vulnerable groups of people through the People's School (SR) program.

According to him, various policies carried out by Prabowo are part of a major strategy for national transformation as well as efforts to solve various problems faced by the community.

Therefore, he asked the public to give Prabowo the opportunity to complete these programs during his term of office.

"When Mr. Prabowo was in office, he tried to implement the solution. Well, give him the opportunity to implement it," he said.
