Russian-Ukrainian War Eats Up Many Lives, Trump: All This Is Unthinkable

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump considers the Russia-Ukraine war to be senseless because it has claimed many lives, saying he will do what he can to end it.

The Russia-Ukraine war broke out in February 2022, when President Vladimir Putin launched a special military operation to demilitarise and denazify.

"All of this is nonsense," President Trump said about the Russia-Ukraine war, launching Anadolu (17/6).

President Trump said Russia and Ukraine must make a peace deal and will do whatever he can to end the war.

"I will do whatever I can," he said, citing Al Arabiya from Reuters.

"Look, Russia has to make a deal," he continued. "I've finished eight wars. This is the war that I think will be the easiest to solve," he added.

Both sides have lost so many soldiers, "nothing like this has happened since World War II," said President Trump, referring to the casualties on both sides.

"Russia has lost a lot of people, Ukraine too. Last month, they lost 35,000 soldiers between the two. This is monthly. They lose an average of 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, young people, and it's crazy what's happening there.

"I spoke to President Putin on Sunday, more or less the same, they continue to advance, continue to fight, lose soldiers, they lose so many soldiers," said President Trump.

President Trump also said he had a "very good" meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France on Tuesday morning.
