UN Reveals Israel Has Killed Nearly 1000 Palestinians Since October

JAKARTA - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, said Israeli forces have killed nearly 1,000 Palestinians since a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was announced last October.

According to him, most of them are civilians.

In his speech at the 62nd session of the Human Rights Council, Türk said Israeli authorities were pushing Palestinians into increasingly narrow areas and limiting the distribution of humanitarian aid.

He added that in the West Bank, Israeli forces and settlers were accelerating the destruction of communities and the annexation of territory.

He also revealed that so far the Zionist forces have killed 57 people, injured nearly 1,300 people, arrested hundreds of people, and issued 23 land confiscation orders.

Türk said, "A number of senior Israeli officials have openly spoken about the expulsion of all Palestinians from Gaza, and the elimination of the possibility of the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. All of this is completely illegal."
